Why do some domains show multiple profiles on their Domain Info page?

The Domain Info page displays the Google profile associated with a domain name. However, in some cases, multiple profiles may appear. Why?

First, it’s important to understand that we don’t “calculate” the domain profiles shown on this page. While it is technically possible to generate a profile URL for any domain (we explain how and provide a generator on our blog), we’ve chosen not to do so. This is because we cannot guarantee that what we generate algorithmically will match what Google actually displays.

Instead, we take a different approach: we show what users actually see in the Google Discover feed. Every time a profile appears next to a domain name, we associate that profile with the domain and display it on the Domain Info page. If multiple profiles are observed for the same domain, we display all of them. This ensures that the Domain Info page accurately reflects what real users see.

Is it a problem if my domain shows multiple profile pages?

The answer depends on what is being shown.

In some cases, your domain may display localized profiles. For example, a site like CNN may show profiles such as “CNN en Español” or “CNN International.” This is a positive signal, indicating that Google recognizes your content is published in multiple languages on the same domain. Another possibility is that different profiles correspond to different sections of your website.

However, it may be a concern if Google shows multiple profiles for the same type of content. In that case, it could indicate a misconfiguration on your end. Our account managers will be happy to help you investigate and resolve this, just reach out to them.
